Warren Woods offers 311 acres of nature preserve that is just seven minutes away from Warren Dunes State Park. The Kal-Haven Clean Up event will help clear part of this beautiful trail of trash to allow its natural beauty shine through for all to enjoy. The trail includes signage on local history, a ghost town, and parks with ample space for picnics or breaks. The 34-mile trail crosses the county with two cities on its ends and villages, forests, wetlands, farmland, and prairies in-between. The Kal-Haven State Trail is a gem in Van Buren County. In the past, we have worked with volunteers and partnering organizations to conduct river and roadside clean ups, and we look forward to continuing that work this Fall. The Van Buren Conservation District has a long history of getting out into the community and cleaning up spaces in need of attention.
